This pair of vases with the Cobalt Papillon decoration is an outstanding example of the incredible range of decoration and shape variations of the Bohemian glass manufacturer Johann Loetz Witwe. Especially in direct light, the flawless incorporation of the melted silver-yellow crumbs on the cobalt-blue base is revealed in its full color splendor. The matte, iridescent color transitions range from blue and violet to shades of yellow and green. An exciting addition to this decoration variant is a technically as well as artistically sophisticated metal mounting, which masterfully encases the respective vase. Here quality, artistic craftsmanship and creativity meet in harmony.
