bronze vessel, patinated, Gustav Gurschner, K.K. Kunsterzgießerei Wien, ca. 1905, marked
Bib.: cf. archive Gustav Gurschner, GG-1905027
This bronze vessel is a typical example of a Gurschner vase. On the upper half of the vase one can see three relief borders with various Celtic knot patterns, triskelions and loop squares. The rows are separated from each other by a pearl border. These patterns are strictly ordered and create a compelling contrast to the other Gurschner vases with dynamically flowing ornaments.
