Documented Loetz vase decoration 1/4 signed ca. 1902
The decoration variant Phenomen Genre 1/4 was presented by the glass manufacturer Loetz after their big success at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. While creating this decoration variant, the owner of the glass workshop, Max Ritter von Spaun, was presumably inspired by works of Louis C. Tiffany. The applied droplet applications by Loetz are positioned more prominent and have their own ornament in the form of pulled iridescent threads. Being one of the most successful decoration variants ever produced by Loetz, the Phenomen Genre 1/4 is highly sought after by collectors all over the world. The signature in the polished pontil further heightens the importance of this object.
