Description
In addition to decorative utilitarian objects and artistic metal sculptures, the Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien also produced a diverse range of stylized animal representations. In the 1930s, the Werkstätte Hagenauer opted for an innovation: the combination of wood and metal. The dialogue between warm, grainy precious wood and cold, shiny brass proved successful. Our little bird also comes from this period. It is reduced to the essentials with great attention to detail, in characteristic Hagenauer style. In addition, the unnaturally large eyes give the animal a charming appearance.
