The popular “Vienna series“ – a tribute to the artist‘s hometown – fascinates its audience with its sheer richness of detail, hand-applied gold leaf background, as well as a humorous touch à la N.D.C.M.
In these collages, the artist presents a parallel world where animals walk the empty streets of Vienna around 1900. After research through thousands of old photographs from the period 1890-1930, archived in the National Library in Vienna, the most beautiful motifs were carefully selected and replicated on crystal supreme photopaper, in a strictly limited edition.
This project, which combines N.D.C.M.’s love for animals, his penchant for black-andwhite photography and attributes of Viennese Secessionism, is his most successful series of collages.
