Loetz vase Creta mit Behaengen decoration ca. 1900

The manufactory Johann Loetz Witwe knew how to transform their glass objects into unique art treasures like no other. This gem of art glass exemplifies the skilled craftsmanship of the glassblowers with objects such as these, as well as the underlying creativity in the designs themselves.

The extraordinary decoration “Creta mit Behaengen” is characterized by its bright green glass with so-called silver-yellow powder fusions. A highlight are especially the downward hanging drops, which were drawn from a green stripe under the neck finish. The drops create the impression of flowing green color on a sky blue background. This created illusion of movement, brings a dynamism to the model blown vase that is rarely found in static art objects. Our vase, created around 1900, makes every collector’s heart beat faster with its playful shape and bright colors in combination with its aesthetically impressive decoration.
